Mission Statement
Promote, engage in, and foster the sport of instinctive bowhunting and competitive archery for new and experienced archers.
Promote acquaintance, friendship and fellowship.
Require members to strictly adhere to the requirement that bows of members must be devoid of any and all marks, devices (mechanical or otherwise) that may be used in or assist in sighting anywhere and at anytime. Exemptions do allow for crossbows and release devices for existing members who become disabled and unable to shoot a conventional bow.
Overview
RIB was established in 1952 and has approximately 125 family & single memberships. The club owns 200 acres of choice wooded and non-wooded land. Some of the features are club house (with indoor range), four wooded shooting ranges, 12 ft. high shooting deck, screened pavilion, and two large pole barns.
Members enjoy 24/7 access to the facility and can participate in year round archery events.
Activity spaces are available to the members for their personal events.
Members share and enjoy game (bear, deer, boar, turkey, alligator, buffalo, squirrel, etc)
acquired and prepared by fellow archers. Archery hunting on RIB property is permitted for members.
Racine Instinctive Bowmen hosts 4-H Club Archery, Hunter Safety Classes, and Clinics for Youth & Adult Archery Exposure among other activities.
Our club members participate in archery activities at other clubs and at State and National events, as well as hunting internationally.
The organization shall not carry on propaganda nor otherwise attempt to influence legislation for other than archery, hunting, and wildlife promotion. Also, shall not participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office, including the publication and/or distribution of statements.
In the event of dissolution of the organization, any remaining assets shall be disposed of by distribution to such other corporation or organization organized and operated for charity, educational, or recreational purposes, as the directors in their discretion shall determine.
Members have the right to:
· vote for Officers and members of the Board of Directors, at the annual meeting.
· hold Officer and Board of Director positions.
· attend regular and special membership meetings.
· chair and serve on committees and other activities.
A few of the standing committees and activities are Anniversary Shoot, Awards, Bar, Club Shoots, Conservation, Constitution & By-Laws, Indoor Shoots, Industrial League, Kitchen, Newsletter, Publicity, Ranges, Sick & Visitation, Targets.
Work Hours and Dues
An annual 25 work hour minimum obligation exists for renewal of membership. The number of hours is set by the Board of Directors. We have a waiting list at this time. You must fill out an application card and pay an application fee to the Membership Chair.
Annual dues are $123.51 for a family and $85.67 for single. Dues include RIB club membership, one-half Wisconsin Bowhunter Association membership (RIB pays second one-half), and sales tax. The above dues include shooting fees for indoor and outdoor club shoots. You must fill out an application card and come before the Board. If the Board approves your application, you may attend club functions WITH your sponsor until the time a membership becomes open, at which time you will be brought in as a probationary member. After 1 year of probationary membership you come before the Board again and the Board can vote you in a senior member. When putting your work hours in as a probationary member, it is required that you attend 2 scheduled work parties, work one open shoot and volunteer in the kitchen 5 hours at the discretion of the Kitchen Chairperson.
Events and Activities
Several of the events and activities (other than the primary activity of archery) are Annual Banquet, New Years Eve Party, Packer-Bear game Sunday, Summer Monthly Potluck Lunch, after Club Shoots and Winter Social Saturday Evenings.
